Ingredients
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup baking cocoa
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Frosting:
3 tablespoons baking cocoa
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon instant coffee granules
1 1/2 cups confectioner's sugar (powdered sugar)
2 to 3 tablespoons warm water
1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add butter; mix well. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt; add to batter and mix well.
2. Pour into a greased 8-inch square baking pan. Bake at 350F for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
3. For frosting, combine the cocoa, butter and coffee. Gradually stir in confectioner's sugar and enough water to achieve a spreading consistency. Frost brownies
**so tasting the frosting before adding to brownie makes you think that they will be coffee tasting, but don't worry. When you eat the frosting on the brownie it tastes perfect!** (note for non-coffee lovers like my sister)**
